Detailed 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari Rwanda
Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda- Volcanoes National Park
On arrival, your driver guide will brief you about the details concerning your 3 days safari and transfer you to the North to Parc National des Volcanoes (Volcanoes National Park) which is located 90km from Kigali; approximately a two hours drive. Just in case you reach Kigali early you will have yourself a city tour where you will be able to visit the National Museum or the Genocide memorial centre then have lunch and transfer to the park in the afternoon (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Trekking-Twin lakes visit/ Community walk
Have yourself an early tasty breakfast, after which your driver guide will take you to the headquarters in the park by 8 am for beefing. Later embark on the amazing adventure which is gorilla tracking, in most cases this activity requires some physical fitness by the hikers.
On several occasions it takes between 1 to 6 hours to trek and trekkers are permitted to be with the gorillas for 1 hour. It is really a nice experience seeing them play, guard each other, feed among others. While trekking hikers will be in line to also see other animals like the golden monkeys, elephants, buffaloes as well as birds.
After trekking, you will be escorted back and head to the lodge; have lunch and opt for a visit to the twin lakes; Burera and Ruhondo or take a walk in the community and watch traditional dances of the locals or if you just relax in the afternoon at your lodge. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 3: Volcanoes Parc des National – transfer to Kigali – City tour/Genocide memorial – airport for departure
Be early to raise and have a morning breakfast before you check out from the lodge. After that your driver guide will transfer you to Kigali city where you will have a short time shopping from local markets, you can buy souvenirs. Just in case you are still on time, you could also visit the pottery project and the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre. Enjoy lunch and transfer to the airport as you will be heading home. NOTE: Only 86 permits are issued by the Rwanda Tourism Board, so it’s important to plan your Rwanda trip earlier. Expect to Track one of these gorilla families, Susa group with 41 gorilla members, Sabyinyo family with 8 gorillas, Amahoro 17 members, Kwitonda with 18, Umubano with 11 and Hirwa with 13 members.

If departing Kigali, the same night, please note’ by use of road’ returns to Kigali are always midafternoon (approximately 12h00/13h00), please DO NOT book flights departing prior to 20h00 respectively in order to allow time for security, check in and if any delays due to weather.
